About

Emily W. Sussman is a master’s student in magazine writing and new media development at the Missouri School of Journalism. She currently works as a temporary reporter for WCAI, the Cape and Islands NPR station.

As a journalist, Emily has worked as staff reporter for several independent newspapers, including the Provincetown Banner and the Cape Cod Chronicle, and has written articles for NYLON and Vox magazines. She also worked (briefly) in new media development for Sirius XM’s news department, and blogged for the Reynolds Journalism Institute about financing online news sites. She also created and edited a web magazine, Carpe Media, to showcase journalism students’ commentary and personal essays.

And after several recent aborted attempts at creating flashy multimedia web magazines featuring first-person journalism, Emily is currently trying to finish that darned degree and make the transition into audio journalism. Or real estate, or whatever.
